- High voltage capacitors are discs.
- These type 2 capacitors, in contrast to type 1 capacitors,
are designed to operate with very high D.C. voltages or
with a D.C. voltage with small A. C. component applied.
The dielectric used in the design of these capacitors is
of the high relative permittivity type 2.
It should be noted that for this material the temperature
coefficient is non-linear and the loss factor is higher
than for type 1 ceramics. Voltage dividers at 50 Hz and
numerous coupling and decoupling applications at high or
low frequencies.
